EyesOn Design will host the first event in its new Lecture Series on Friday, May 11, 2018. The public is invited to attend the "Puff" Puffer Automotive Photo Exhibit from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Detroit Club. There is no charge to attend the exhibit.
Employed by Ford Motor Company for 45 years, Robert Puffer was a Ford staff photographer in the '50s, when expertise in photography was an art form much less accessible to the masses. Dozens of his original works, many being seen in public for the first time, will be displayed at the exhibit.
Remarks will be made by his son, Christopher Puffer, and by Darrell Behmer, chief designer of Ford Performance, who will recall the inspiration Puffer's photographs provided as they graced the walls of Ford's design center.
The historic and newly restored Detroit Club is a particularly fitting venue for the photography exhibit. It was at the epicenter of many pivotal events during the rise of the American automobile industry, and specifically, served as a location for mediation in the 1940s in transitioning the leadership of Ford Motor Co. to Henry Ford II.
There is no charge to attend the exhibit, but registration is encouraged to assist in planning for the event. Donations for EyesOn Design and the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology will be accepted at the door.
