TO CELEBRATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY THIS YEAR OF THE EYESON DESIGN AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN EXHIBITION, FUTURIST SYD MEAD CREATED AN ILLUSTRATION THAT DEPICTS THE CAR SHOW 30 YEARS FROM NOW – IN 2047.

Set in a multi-level park with an enormous sculpture as a backdrop, Mead’s illustration showcases the imagined vehicles of the future while paying homage to the classic cars of the past.

Vision Honored: EyesOn Design Lifetime Design Achievement Award

Held each June on the Friday prior to Father’s Day

EyesOn Design Lifetime Achievement Award, selected by its previous recipients, recognizes distinguished careers in automotive design.

One award is given every year, and recipients join a group of some of the most influential designers in the world.


EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition

Held each June on Father’s Day Sunday

Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, Grosse Pointe Shores, MI

Each year, EyesOn Design attracts members of the transportation design community, collectors, and the public to celebrate and reflect on design. Vehicles are chosen based on the year’s theme by invitation only, and between 200 and 300 vehicles are at the show on Father’s Day.

Judging is accomplished by individual automotive designers and/or teams of exterior and interior designers from leading automotive and supplier companies.


EyesOn Design at the North American International Auto Show

Held each year on the final press preview day of NAIAS

EyesOn Design Awards are the officially-sanctioned design awards for NAIAS. They honor the best production and concept vehicles making their North American or worldwide debut in Detroit. The awards are prominently displayed in design studios around the world and are merchandised as industry validation of great design. 

The Awards are selected by active and retired design heads of automotive manufacturers and transportation design chairs from top art schools.
